The shielded extension cables VK are very high quality processed cables with Schuko plug and Schuko socket for the reduction of low-frequency electric and magnetic alternating fields.
With some socket strips and extension cables available on the market, the cross-section of the cable (and thus the current-carrying capacity) is only designed for 1.00 mm², and the permissible limit temperature under load can be exceeded. Prefer connecting cables with a cross-section of 1.5 mm2 so that the fuse can blow in the event of a short circuit.
Prefer devices with protection class 1. Protection class 1 (or protective grounding) means that all metal parts of a devices / lamps are connected to protective ground. Alternating electric fields are thus shielded and diverted. Products of protection class 1 always have a three-pole earthing contact plug and are thus connected to the protective earth conductor of the building installation (three-pole: current wire, neutral wire, protective earth wire).
